About Me

Picture
Sue Davis is a high-energy professional piano teacher who has been teaching private and group piano for 30+ years. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Messiah University and a Master of Music degree in Music Education with a concentration in piano from West Virginia University. She has served as an adjunct instructor in class piano at Carroll Community College and also taught class piano at West Virginia University while pursuing her masters degree. An active church musician, Sue plays piano regularly on her church's worship team. Her hands-down favorite activity is teaching the approximately 30 students who come to her studio each week.
My Teaching Philosophy
Music is a vital part of the human experience. It affects and expresses who we are and what we think and feel. Because of the innate way that music shapes culture and way of life, every child should have the opportunity to study music. While not every child has a natural bent toward music, a lifetime of participating in and enjoying music can be fostered from an early age and nurtured long into adult years. It is all too common to find adults who lament the fact that they did not pursue music studies when they were children. My goal as a piano teacher is to develop fundamental music skills while instilling a love for music in all students that I teach.
